    Stu Ungar is considered by most to the very best NL Texas holdem Poker player ever.

    The three time World Poker Champ was born in New York in 1953 and began wagering poker before reaching his teens.

    The young gambler began playing gin and at the age of 10 had won his first gin rummy tournament, while on vacation with his parents. By the age of fourteen the small poker maestro had turned professional and stopped going to school.

    In ‘54 Stu entered the history books by succeeding 10 grand in a gin tournament without dropping a single hand, a record which still stands in New York these days.

    The fast speaking wiz kid has been likened, in poker terms, to athletic greats such as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Stu had a true talent for betting poker except regardless of his achievements in Texas hold’em poker, he favored playing gin.

    Stu once said that there might a few day be a much better NL Texas hold em player than him except he couldn’t see how anyone could ever be a much better gin gambler.

    In ‘80 Stu was put on the global map as one of the ideal Holdem Poker gamblers in the planet when he was crowned World Poker Champion for the first time. Astonishingly it was the 1st time he had entered the tournament.

    The right after year he dismissed any thoughts that it had been a fluke, by effectively protecting his title. And in ‘97 Stu set the record by winning his 3rd World poker championship.

    Except this poker legend also fought with drug abuse and a year after succeeding his third title Stu Ungar past away in his hotel room. According to medical professionals, he had died from a cardiac event which was triggered by his lifestyle.

    Stu Ungar had started with nothing except his skill and expertise for the game which made this poker fantastic a millionaire quite a few times over.
