Double-hand Poker is a current game with old origins. Based on the old Chinese domino game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the wild west in a wonderful game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the house, unlike almost all other poker games that players compete against other players. By wagering against the dealer, starting players don’t need to fret about any other, more advanced people taking their $$$$.
Another Pai Gow benefit is the fairly slow game play, beginners should be able to take their time and scheme while not needing to make frenzied decisions.
It is also easier to gamble on for a long time with basically a tiny amount of money after all, to not win, each of your hands must be lower than both of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards faces showing and the house is given 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand must be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be stronger than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the dealer’s.
