Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most complicated but popular poker games. It’s a variation that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for action from every level of players. This is the main reason why a once obscure variation, has increased in acceptance so rapidly.

Omaha/8 starts exactly like a regular game of Omaha. 4 cards are dealt to each player. A sequence of betting follows in which players can wager, check, or fold. 3 cards are dealt out, this is referred to as the flop. One more round of betting ensues. Once all the players have in turn called or folded, another card is flipped on the turn. an additional sequence of wagering follows and then the river card is revealed. The entrants will need to put together the strongest high and low five card hands using the board and hole cards.

This is where a number of players can get confused. Contrasted to Texas Hold ‘Em, in which the board can make up everyone’s hand, in Omaha hi-low the player must utilize precisely three cards from the board, and precisely 2 cards from their hand.
